Current Projects
The Center is currently involved in several projects while it lays the groundwork for a long-term fundable agenda.
Atlas of Climate & Environmental Change
The Center is currently working with the Champlain-Adirondack Biosphere Network, the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network and Queen's University to create a long-term, evolving atlas of climate and environmental change in the trans-St. Lawrence region. The short-term goal is to establish a program that can be funded by both Canadian and American resources beginning in the 2022/23 academic year. It is expected that the 网赌平台 Main Campus, the 网赌平台 Adirondack Ecological Center and the 网赌平台 Thousand Islands Biological Station will be heavily involved in this project.
University of Vermont Bioregionalism Course
The Center (through Professors Carter and Diemont) is participating in a Fall 2021 University of Vermont course called Bioregionalism: Principles, Planning and Practice. Both are involved in an October 6 panel on international and urban perspectives on bioregionalism.
Development of a New Area of Study for 网赌平台
The Center is currently working on a proposal for a graduate Area of Study in Bioregional & UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Studies. The proposal is for the professional Master of Landscape Architecture and the academic Master of Science in Landscape Architecture (which is open to people without a professional degree in Landscape Architecture). The proposed degree programs will offer generous opportunities for travel, field work, internships and research. There are currently two (experimental) Center-sponsored courses available to 网赌平台 students:
